Training tools

Long leashes are a MUST have for into to off leash training. We normally use 15 foot but they have many options!

Slip leashes make a great training tool for walking if used properly!

NO pull harness is a great tool for walking, unlike other harness this clips in the front to give you control of the chest. Harness that clip on the back often make the dog pull you more!

I pets E-collar is a tool you will need to contact us or another professional trainer to use properly and not harm the dog. This electric collar is my favorite because you can UNSCREW the SHOCK! It has a loud tone and a very high vibrate for only $40! Don’t spend hundreds on a fancy e-collar. I have been using this brand for over three years now!

Personally my favorite GPS for dogs is HUAN.This small silicone dog tag connect straight to your cell phone through Bluetooth so you can see exactly where your dog is at any time. This tag is about a one time fee of $30 and only $4 a month!
Picture
Whistle is another great GPS , it’s about $100 and $95 for the year. This gives you a rechargeable battery, text when the dog exits the yard and real time map connected to your phone.

Fi Smart GPS is about $100 and $100 for the year. Unlike a removable tag they come with different options of dog collars.

Bitter apple spray is a great tool for puppies in the teething stage! You can spray it on items such as shoes, the couch and unwanted chewed items. You can also use it for teething or nipping; put a few drops on your index finger and when the puppy bites you say no bite and rub that finger with the spray in the mouth and disengage in the play or petting, after a few seconds hand the puppy an object they are allowed to bite or play with.

A good leash is very important for your comfort. DO not use a flexible leash or a bungee leash because they give no control. I love a good leather leash.

For hand made collars and leashes check out local Mrs.Bones

Food, treats, toys and more

I personally use Purina pro plan or pro plan sport. This is a great food for very active dogs or dogs who loose weight too fast.

Check out Dog Food Advisory for more options to best fit your dogs diet. Also seek vet assistance if needing help with choosing a food.
Some great places to buy food and more:
Care-A-Lot
Tractor Supply
Pet Co
Pet Supply Plus
Pet Smart
Chewy.com
 Dog stuff
I love using a slow feeder dog bowl. It helps with bloating, fast eating and it’s a good activity.
Picture
I am ALWAYS on the go so I have a few favorite dog bowls beside the slow feeder that I LOVE!
The first one I love is a collapsible dog bowl.
For my dogs in the car, when I pick up a client or thoes who like to play with water I love the no spill bowl.
For hot summer day I use the Yeti water bowl.
Kongs are one of my dogs favorite toys. They help with teething and chewing. They also make a great activity toy! You can put things inside such as; peanut butter, yogurt, cookies, smashed yams and canned pumpkin with no sweetener. Even freeze it over night for longer activity time.
Picture
If your dog loves a tug toy buy this! This toy goes in the ground they also make one for the trees . They best part is they are self entertained.
Picture
When it comes to dog bones it’s hard to find any that will last and that will not be harmful. I love real bones, they last longer, will not harm them and this brand has different fillings to make it more of a challenge.
Picture
DO NOT use rawhide bones they can be very harmful and get stuck. A great alternative bone is a no Hyde bone
Picture
For training treat I mainly use these mini treats
Picture
For treats at home I love anything all natural. Sometimes I give Beggen strips but normally something with real ingredients such as apples, blueberries, pumpkin and more.
Picture
Bark box is a monthly toy subscription. Each month your dog receives a box full of treats toys and other goodies!

Does your dog suffer from a very dry or crusty nose!? I recommend Snout soother

Veterinarian facilities

I can’t recommend just one veterinarian because we have so many great ones in the area!

Doggie Boarding:
I highly recommend Camp-Run-A-Mutt located in Norfolk Va. this is a cage FREE boarding facility with two artificial outdoor play yards and two indoor play areas. I am also the trainer at this wonderful state of the art facility so I promise you are in great hands! If your dog is enrolled in daycare or boarding I offer 10% OFF of training. We can train together or I can pull your k9 from daycare. Call Camp-Run-A-Mutt for information or to set up a daycare evaluation. Contact Chelsea for training information or to set up an evaluation.

I personally do not trust dog parks so a great alternative is this indoor park in Norfolk called Dog Perk. This is not a doggie daycare, its a safe indoor area for you to come play with your dog and meet other owners. You will need an evaluation with them and this is not free it’s a membership. They do offer a daycare and boarding called Dog Town also located in Norfolk.

If you are looking in Vb here are a few daycare and boarding facilities my clients have recommended:
Cosmos Corner off London Bridge Rd
Owl Creek on Birdneck Rd
Sterling Meadows on Indian River Rd
Bark VB on Vb Blvd
Care-A-Lot many locations

Grooming

Located near Hilltop in Vb is All Breed Grooming by Wally I have known and worked for Pete @ all breed grooming for years! By far one of the best!

Other groomers recommended by clients:
Wagadoodle Mobile grooming
Canine Cloud9 on Vb Blvd
Preppie Pooch on Vb Blvd
